Overview

Customs clearance in Tunisia, done right the first time

Most delays at the port or the airport come from paperwork: a wrong tariff code, a missing certificate, an invoice that does not match the packing list. Our brokers check your documents before the goods arrive, so problems are solved at the desk, not at the terminal.

We file declarations electronically through Tunisie TradeNet, attend inspections with the customs officers, and advise you on duties, preferential origin and the customs regime that fits your activity. ATLS is also going through the Authorised Economic Operator (AEO) process with Tunisian Customs.

FAQ

Questions we often get

How long does customs clearance take?

It depends on the goods, the documents and whether customs selects the shipment for inspection. Complete, consistent documents are the biggest factor, which is why we check them before arrival.

How are duties and taxes calculated?

On the customs value of the goods and their tariff code, plus VAT and any other taxes that apply. We give you an estimate before the goods arrive.

What is an EUR.1 and do I need one?

It is a certificate proving the goods originate in Tunisia or the EU, which can reduce or remove import duties under the EU–Tunisia agreement. We tell you when it applies and help you obtain it.

Can you clear goods shipped by another forwarder?

Yes. Send us the documents and the arrival details, and we handle the clearance and delivery.

My goods were selected for inspection. What happens now?

Our broker attends the inspection with the customs officers, answers their questions and follows the file until the goods are released.
